©XanGum Pharmaceutical – Pharmaceutical grade xanthan gum
Packing: 25kg or 25LB bags/boxes
Pharmaceutical Grade Xanthan Gum can be used as thickener and stabilizer for medicine products. Its’ function varies from controlled release excipient to tablet disintegrant. Over numerous cases, xanthan gum is joined with a secondary substance, benefiting from strong synergies.
Xanthan gum easily dissolves in hot or cold water, is reliable in acidic and alkaline solutions and has synergistic interactions with other hydrocolloids for example locust bean gum and guar gum. It is used throughout massive number of pharmaceutical applications as a suspending agent, an excellent emulsion stabilizer and also a foam enhancer in semi-solid, liquid and topical formulations.
Interaction with other gums
Xanthan gum is versatile and competible with most other gums, the interaction between xanthan gum and locust bean gum generates effective, cohesive, thermoreversible gels with very low syneresis. Xanthan gum interacts with konjac to help form strong and elastic gels. Also, small amount of xanthan gum help to stabilize starch solutions during storage.
Xanthan is on the National Organic Program (NOP) list of approved ingredients for use inside “organic” and produced with organic labeled products.
